Has anybody seen any large schools on top either morning or evening on Texoma? I'm taking my boss tomorrow and am hoping not to ZERO! We lure fish only. Many thanks for any pointers, PMs or otherwise. Tight lines!

Last week was last time I was there. The dam,5:30 until sun peaked over the dam was ok. No surfacing. Just look for a swril in the water.

I went out last weekend and we caught a BUNCH on topwater. Try the Storm ChugBug and also the Saltwater XL Chugbug. Idk what it is about those poppers but the out preformed my normal poppers.

I also heard some good things about the pencil poppers.

Tight lines!

Launched at the dam. Couple top water fish near East Burns. Then proceeded to go counterclockwise up the east bank to wash pt. Fished with a small group of boats. Nada. (Live baits guides were picking at them though.) West to flats and then past Mac Crk. Nada. Up to the cross and down to N. Island. - some fish on finder, nothing worth fishing. Turned back to the east. Went around TI pt down the shoreline to Lil Min., intake house, butterfly, and Eisenhower. Never should have left the dam. Two fish. Most entertaining was literally watching about 5 smallies in 8-10 of water off of one of Perot's points. Water is so clear. Caught one of 'em. Did not have my drop shot rig. They would chase a crank bait but not hit it. For the weekender lure guy it's not easy right now (at least for me it isn't). Fish are not easily found gathered in big schools deep. (Guides thrashing water and tappping the bottom of their boats all day all over the lake.) Fish are not consistent up top. And I couldn't get them to chase a slab when I did stumble on a few near the table top drop off.

Then - as an added bonus my motor seized up near the old dam ramp and I trolled/limped in from there. Got to cross the dam, 70 bridge and 377 bridge taking my boat to Blackbeard and then returning home. Saw no topwater schooling near any of those at 9:30.

My guess is we'll see some great reports starting right about when I had to get off the water!! grin Good luck the rest of the season guys. Looks like I'm cooked for while.

Molokini is a place the locals talk about! Guides have been having luck there early early on top waters!
Molokini is the area directly out from Mill creek area by Hog island!

What water depth where you in?

How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?
