I saw some stuff at Lowes made by Rustoleum that looks simalar to a bedliner material but it is for wood decks. I think i am going to try that on mine and see how it works. They had several color options.

The safe-floor looks to be porus. With that going on a wood floor I'm courious if it will hold water and over time rot the wood. I have carpet in my boat and I can't wait for it to get get worn enough to replace with something else

Justin, I'm looking at replacing my carpet too. I called TuffCoat and had them send me some samples. The samples look like pretty good stuff and there is a video on Youtube on applying it on a pontoon. Looked pretty easy. I just can't decide if it will look good in my boat or if I should go back with carpet.

Humm less than $2 sq ft and has tires in it too plus seals wood from rot, looks like a nobrainer for us frugal (poor boys)guys and you can do it yourself

I used the restore deck paint on my rear deck I built above my motor, it's been on there for 3 years and not one place has chipped off, Im painting the rest of my floor with it on my pontoon, stuff is awesome use the 10x they make a 5X also but if you use the 10X no worry with it getting slick or slipping on it, I will try and get some pic's if I get home before dark and post for you

Tis true. BUT, labor is most always the biggest cost of any project. If someone else is doing the work, any type flooring is gonna cost a bunch more than just materials. On do-it-yerself projects your time is still worth sumpim you just be payin yerself. smile It's called sweat equity! smile

Here is the pic's Guys of the Restore 10X

the pic's are with 2 coats and I showed you the corner where everybody climbs up and it is still holding strong. really like this stuff, it's $20.00 for a gal and a gal does around 10 square feet, to me this is 10X better than Vinyl and it washes clean just in case you drop a little stubbys77 on it. hammer

Home Depot has it. Worked great on some cement steps, good traction as well.

Krappie Kat ..... its not porus and tough coat will peal up over time . everybody talks about sealin wood , but if some boat owners try to seal their floors on a pontoon boat , what about the bottom side . hummm . safe-floor is the colors you pick out and then mixed into a patented epoxy and then we trowel it down to atleast a 1/4 inch . the last floor you'll haveta worry about and it may not be for everybody , but one time and your done .

no no no never seal or paint the bottom of any wood. the guy I got my pontoon from had just sealed coated the bottom of the wood even used it as a selling point, me being dumb and excited about buying a pontoon. though now that is a great ideal. WRONG water comes from the top rain wet swimmers. washing it drains out the bottom, and if you seal it guess where the water goes?/////??//nowhere t just sets and in 3 years all of your deck is rotten. to the point of being able to remove your entire deck with just your hands no power tools needed, best thing you can do for a pontoon deck is underskin it, aluminum is hard to come by here so I used R-panel on mine. can take pics if anyone wants to see

and I gt my restore 10X at home depot, Lowes has it too comes in around 30 diff colors

In a perfect world yes seal it all the way around, but wood expands and shrinks depending on the weather and moisture so it will crack most all sealers, treated wood is the closest thing to a wood that is sealed, but it is really not sealed to keep water out, it is sealed to prevent rot. it still soaks up water and drains it self
the restore I put on is only on the top, and it's treated wood, or what is now called yellow wood, that is what my whole pontoon is done in, yes when I refloored my pontoon I didn't want to go back with plywood. so I went back with the 5/4 deck boards, I got them let them dry on racks the whole summer before I put them on. turning them over ever few weeks, still over the last three years they have still dried out more than when I put them on, so I have the little gaps between them. but the restore fills in the gaps

and yes restore 10X is for decks and piers having water contact does not seem to have any effect on it. but I don't think you could keep it underwater and so far the sun has not faded it,
