I'm going to take the scenic route from San Antonio back to DFW in a couple weeks. I've never traveled on 281. Is there a must eat place for lunch say between Lampasas and Hico?

Great sandwiches at the Dutchman just north of Hamilton. Lots of old fashioned candies and jerky.

I used to ha e to drive 281 in to SA from Fort hood every other weekend. That where we would stop to eat every time. Food is great, beer is amazing, friendly staff, and comfortable relaxing atmosphere.
