Awesome!!!! To say the least slabs, top water, trolling and live bait!!

Wednesday the 16th- was a short company trip for United Rentals that I helped with thru Doug Keeter. We left the dock at 6:30 and were on the clock to be back about 9:30 because the groups had a lunch then a business meeting! I knew I was in for a good time when my group showed up in costumes dressed like hip hop gangstas gold chains and all! We headed out and went to the deep water up north where we had been getting them really good early but there was not much on the screen and then I finally found a couple of small schools with the sideview unit and stuck an anchor! Dropped down baits and caught one and lost one! Heard guys saying they were marking fish but not much catching going on yet! Then we caught a couple more and lost a couple more! Slowly picked at them for about 30 minutes and then it happened!! Not a huge group of fish but a steady stream of rod slamming action. Good mix of big box fish and overs up to 24"! Called over a couple other boats that tied in behind and they were able to get in on it before it was time to head in. All live bait on this day!

Saturday the 19th- The guys got to the dock at 6:00 am and we headed out searching and searching and searching! Finally went up on some shallow flats and caught some small fish for some action and to put a little meat in the cooler! I had already dropped 3 anchors at this point and the blue cats were killing it! We kept a bunch of small catfish this day as well! We left the small fish once we caught about 10 of them and went looking for bigger fish set another anchor on what looked like a good school and only caught one striper but loaded up on catfish again. Then about 9:30 we found the mother load of active fish and they went off until noon when pulled anchor and heading to clean fish! We finished out the four man limit and thru back a bunch! I cleaned a about 60 fish between the stripers and catfish! Solid day that started out slow!

Sunday the 20th- Afternoon trip I was able to get the guys to show up at 1:00 and we left the dock and pulled out on the deep river ledge and started looking after about 10 minutes the screen blacked out on a massive school of fish!! Anchor down and the whack fest began for the next 4 hours!! Slabs and live bait did not matter for the first hour and a half!!! This was one of the best days I have ever had for numbers of big fish pushing the 10 pound mark or breaking it! I did not take many pictures which I never do this time of year simple because I do not want to kill fish that have to go back! My group took some pics when they send them to me I will update! I tell them have your camera ready to take a pic because you have until I get him unhooked! You have to get them back in the water quick!! Never saw one floater! Was there some delayed mortality? I am sure there was. Best thing was we only had 3 gut hooked fish all day and those went in the cooler!!

You can catch top water fish right now in places, trolling, Live bait and slabs!!! If you are thinking about going striper fishing on Texoma quit thinking and get with your guide of choice and book the trip! Right now slow days are few and far between! There might be some slow stretches on the day but if you keep digging you will get them!
