New CC neighbor Guy took me out in his boat to mark some of the Cedar Creek structures on his GPS and to catch some whites and hybrids. We were out from 12:30 to 4:30 PM. First stop was Long Ridge where we ran into Snaggin Steve. Steve said things were slow there so we went on to mark Midlake Hump. Didn't look for fish there but went straight for Iron Wall Hump, where I had caught some yesterday. We found fish there and caught a half dozen, then decided to go on north to mark some more spots. Wanted to have him mark the north finger of Spillway Hump, but there were boats all over it. So we went on to the Rock Pile. We marked it and some fish. Stopped there and caught about a half dozen more. When it slowed we went on to Enchanted Isle Ridge and marked it, however, we couldn't find any fish there. We went back and marked the west edge of Spillway Hump, then Game Warden Hump and finally Spillway Point.

Ready to catch more fish we went back to Iron Wall Hump, testing his GPS to see if he could use it to locate the hump - he did. We located fish there again and caught some big whites and several hybrids. Final count was 37: 27 whites, 4 legal hybrids to 26 inches, 3 short hybrids, 2 yellows and a cat. Guy had 2 more legal hybrids pull off and break his line. All caught on #4 Mepps. Boat traffic bounced us around a lot - detracting from our fishing pleasure. Here are some pics:

Yours truly with a 23 inch hybrid:

Did not recognize you in that boat Dennis or I would have waved. We seen it at mid lake hump. I went north this trip and stopped several places like spillway point, enchanted isle ridge, merimac point etc.. and ended up catching a few at some spots and nothing at others. Nothing at mid lake hump or long ridge. I did catch several at greenhouse ridge and there was a boat trolling in that area and said they were catching quite a few. Ended the day with 28 total keepers. Tossed back lots of yellow bass, small sand bass, and a few catfish.

1st I need to know some info. What species are you going to fish for? What electronics do you have? How do you usually fish for the fish? i.e. live bait, slabs, spinners, look for surface feeding fish, catch them off the bottom after locating with depth finder, etc.

I will have my 13 year old and my 7 year old so anything I can do to keep their attention. When I have them with my we usually fish with live bait at places I know, just looking for a change of pace. I do have slabs, spinners etc, electronics are Lowrance HDS with SS.

Did some calling around and the only boat ramp I found open (at least with a good phone number) was at Sandy Shores. Any other suggestions there?

Don's Port, 334 ramp between Seven Points and Gun Barrel City, Log Cabin City Ramp, 198 ramp near Log Cabin and Fisherman's wharf are open and serviceable.

Sandy Shores is good as well.

Dennis,
Good to talk to you.
I havent been active this last year but Im going out tomorrow with a DFW transplant who now lives on the lake.
We will be in his pontoon boat, if you see us say hello, he knows of you and would like to meet you.
Looking forward to a good time and, of course, we will be using your map!
Mike Staggs

blfuller123: OK, fishing for white bass has been good on Spillway Hump, Iron Wall Hump and Enchanted Isle Ridge. I catch them with Mepps #4 silver spinner (see my video below). You may also catch them bouncing slabs off the bottom or by trolling a hell-pet rig. There are more catchable fish in 12 to 17 fow than deeper. Spillway Hump and Enchanted Isle Ridge have these depths. At Iron Wall Hump the shallowest part is 19 to 21 fow - but fish are biting there so give it a try. Iron Wall Hump and Spillway Hump are on the map below. Enchanted Isle Ridge is off the next major point to the north of Spillway Hump on the east side of the lake. It is NW of Rock Pile Hump. Locate concentrations of fish down on the bottom using your depth finder before you stop to fish. Hopefully this helps. Good luck!

muscogeemike: Don't know if I'll be out tomorrow. If I do, I'll watch for you although there's a lot of pontoons fishing the lake now.

Wow, not many folks would make a map with all of their fishing spots on it... Dennis, I've never met you, but you must be the nicest guy on the planet banana
