Good video with some good tips on slow rolling. It is hard to tell how deep he is fishing, but I would say no more than 12 feet, just watching how fast he begins to crank. This is what I call a cast and retrieve technique. It will flat wear you out trying to do that in 25 to 30 ft. deep water. By the time it gets to the bottom and you get half way back to the boat it is coming up off the bottom.
I have learned to drag it with the wind to save my old arm and it has turned out to be a very good technique to latch on to some bigger bass that live deep in the summer months. It allows you to follow different contours at different depths until you catch a couple then you will know what depth to maintain for the rest of the day.
Once I find the bass and catch a couple you will drift out of them and have to crank up and go back to drift through them again. Then you run into the problem of following that same line. Keeping a marker ready to pitch out is excellent for a point of reference. Now I will start trying to stay closer to the fish and use other techniques such as a C-Rig or T-Rig to pick them off faster than drifting back though the bass with the spinner bait. Although many time I have found they want nothing to do with those two rigs and have to go back to the spinner bait. At other times it works so well you wonder why you were using a spinner bait in the first place.

Good stuff. I definitely do this during the prespawn. Guess I'll have to give it a shot during the summer months too
