Hello boys and girls been awhile thought I'd let ya know whats going on at Whitney. The white bass bite has been pretty awesome most days with fish up to 17" being caught. Mainly on chartreuse slabs fished suspended in 25 - 35' of water On humps points, ledges and edges. Some schooling going on later in the morning to early afternoon most days. Clients going home with gallons of fresh fillets. The striper bite has been all live bait and on again off again, hasn't been real consistant but a couple of friends of mine got on em and put some big fish in the boat. While we don't have a huge population of mature stripers we do still have some big stripers and all are about 7 pounds to double digits. We didn't get stocked for 3 years and I still believe we lost a lot through the gates a few years ago. TPWD Inland Fisheries Management division did stock us with over 900, 000 fingerlings and fry last year and 380, 000 fingerlings this year. The fingerlings and fry from last year are abundant all over the lake with last years fingerlings already reaching 13 -13 1/4" long and last years fry being 6-8" long. Should have an abundant supply of box fish to catch mid to late spring next next year. The mature stripers will split up and join some of these satellite schools of smaller stripers giving us the opportunity to catch a lot of box fish with some double digits in the mix. I'll post some pix when I get home next week to a computer. Not even going to attempt it from my smart phone. Lol. Thats the skinny on the fishing at Whitney! Good luck, God bless ya and hope someday soon to, C Ya on the Water!
Here's a few pics of recent white bass trips out on Whitney.

Having a great time on Whitney catching a lot of fish. Check out the size of a lot of these sandys, some of the biggest I've seen in a while. Come fish on one of the most scenic lakes in Texas and catch a lot of fish! Hire me, hire someone else or bring your own boat but you ought to come get ya some!

Here's a happy couple. Check out the size of these white bass!
This next photo these fish was caught on top water baits, the young lady in the boat hadn't fished much and did not know how to cast. After a couple quick lessons she was on the fish. Not long and she was in the front of the boat up by my trolling motor directing me on where to turn the boat and go (remote T motor)we had an absolute blast! BTW, I keep hearing reports of the whites schooling up and chasing shad along the bluffs in Little Rocky Creek.

Your advice was spot on Saturday. All the granddaughters caught fish and we had a great time, plus we put some filets in the freezer for the next fish fry. Thanks again Randy.

Folks my Sunday trip postponed. Big magnum whites still on a major feed! If I knew how on the phone Id post pix of todays trip. Lot of schooling action but I'm leaving those alone and fishing the same area but suspended. Even when the top water action moved off and after the boat show left we wore out the magnums in the same area! You ought to come get ya some of this action! Especially if you have kids you want to get hooked on fishing. Remember I let one child 12 and under per trip go for free! Fish on, gotta run! 817-822-5539

Still catching magnum whites on Whitney mixed in with small stripers! Been a lot of schooling activity all over really, around the Island, out from the State Park and out from King Creek. Some days better than others on the schooling activity. Instead of concentrating so much on the surface fish I like dropping slabs down suspended and fluttering them up and down. We seem to be catching the larger magnum whites under the schooling fish. Even when the top water action moves off and the boat show follows them I am staying put most days and wearing out the suspended fish. The stripers are finally (mature stripers) starting to show up on their summer pattern places. Yesterday after catching white bass down by the State Park I decided to go check out a few summertime big fish holes and I'm glad we did. I marked several big stripers on one spot, put my downriggers down turned and went back over the hump and wham fish on! Had a boat come in, drop anchor after we passed over and spooked most of the fish out. We left and came back later and caught 2 more big fish next to him. Ended up a good day on Whitney, schooling whites, suspended fish and big fish to boot! Here's a few pics of the past few days. The kids are having a blast with the white bass, the adults are too!

Myself, Buck and Jan from Whitney with some Lake Whitney Linesiders we caught Sunday!

I like this picture of Jan, when we got back to the dock she spun her shirt around to get a picture with her big fish! It reads, As a matter of fact I do fish like a girl!
