 Calaveras Lake Record Hybrid.

Congratulations to Jeremy Huron of San Antonio who earlier today caught this 5.58 Lb. Hybrid Striped Bass on Lake Calaveras. Jeremy caught the fish using a Hoggie Lure while down rigging. The length of the fish was 22.75" with a girth of 15.75". The current record Hybrid is 5.37Lbs. and was caught back in February of this year. Paper work was completed and will be sent to the Texas Parks&Wildlife. Again Congratulations Jeremy on your pending record.

Nice! Kinda small for a lake record isn't it? Hybrids new to the lake? Calaveras is a power plant lake. Water gets pretty hot this time of year. That may have some effect don't know.  A five plus is big for that lake.

I was confused.
Ah,I'm stupid,got it. The current lake record was caught this year.
This fish is new and will beat it.

The fishing pressure on Lake Calaveras must be off the charts with San Antonio so close. ! ?? A three lb fish would be rare.

Nice! Kinda small for a lake record isn't it? Hybrids new to the lake? I sell several guides there Roy and yes the lake gets very hot in summer and most hybrids don't make it. They do catch big red fish there! Nice fish and congrats!

I fished the lake several times in the 9yrs I lived down there. It's a small lake but it has a good population of red fish and tilapia.

I fished the lake several times in the 9yrs I lived down there. It's a small lake but it has a good population of red fish and tilapia. Lots of nice Reds,and Catfish.  In the lakes early days it was one very good Large Mouth Bass and Hybrid Lake.

Nice Hybrid! Congratulations Jeremy on your record fish.  Side Note: Hey Chuck How much did that Hybrid weigh that was brought to you off of Dunlap last week? I was fishing across from that guy and saw him catch it. He weighted it on his scale and I told him about your scale being certified as a public scale by Parks&Wildlife. He told me that he was going to meet you at the boat ramp. His scale showed the fish at 10.05 Lbs. Just curious if it broke the Dunlap record?

Curtis: That fish weighted 10.36 Pounds. The current record is 10.61 Lbs. Almost.
