I am still waiting on my new kayak to come in but in the meantime I went ahead and built my stand, I used 1-1/2" PVC with 4 90s, 4 tees, and a set of cheap straps I got from Harbor Freight. Really wasn't difficult at all. I bet I have about $50 invested in it.

Looks good. You'll love it when you start rigging your yak!
You might consider putting a couple of straps on the bottom too so it doesn't try to spread apart.

I went with the 4 tees on the bottom to give it a little more flat surface to sit on as opposed to the 90s. It has worked out great for me and holds my 115x like a champ.

The long pieces that make up the top and bottom are 60" and the shorter ones that make up the legs are 36". I drilled the holes 16" from the top and used 5" bolts. It's been a good rack for me and my Ride 115x, its supports it with no problems and even with the summer temps in my garage it hasn't warped.

I like the looks of this one better than the harbor freight stands (which i currently use. The harbor freight stand are a bit wobbly and almost too tall for their own good. Im gonna have to try this for sure!
