All this talk about spider rigging in the last week got me excited and wanted to give it a shot. I don't want to spend a whole lot money so I decided to make my own spider rig, actually 2 of them for about $30 all from Home Depot and Lowe's. Took all of 20 mins to install. Just need to get more holders, about $3 each. I think they'll hold up to crappie just fine, not sure about the catfish, lmb, or all the stumps though confused! Not the prettiest, but as long as it does the job, it's fine with me. Now all I need is time and good weather to try it out!

Awesome, that looks like it should do the trick just fine!

Let us know how it works if you try them out this weekend!

Thanks for all the input. Man I want to hit the lake and give it a test run! Hopefully I'll have some pics of crappie next time!

Looks great, I have been thinking about that same design with the floor plates ( used them for my extended GPS puck mount) & angle. I am plsnning on putting Bee Ready adjustable holders on mine.

A bad day on the lake is much better than a good day at work!

"CrappieKiller" has that same rig for sale except he welds the angle iron to the top of the riser instead of clamping it. (I use the ones he makes on my boat)

He used to post on this forum when he lived in the DFW area about 5 years ago. He moved back home and has his own website/forum/store for that region.

Hey Silvia,
Which section of Home Depot or Lowes did you find those mounting plates? Also, where did you buy the rod holders?

thanks
